Charles Monk is a founding partner at TerraVerde Renewable Partners, LLC (TVRP) and is head of Development and Finance. He joins TVRP with a significant track record in project finance, particularly in the solar industry. At his previous post with Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV, previously, MMARV), Mr. Monk was instrumental in raising over $166M of project finance capital across 14 projects totaling 20.4MWs of distributed generation. His project track record was financed with a combination of Tax Equity, Senior Debt, Mezzanine Debt, and Permanent Equity provided by industry leading capital suppliers such as Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and John Hancock. During his tenure at FRV, Mr. Monk developed the company’s project underwriting platform as well as the tax partnership fund model which remains the core operating tool for the business to this day.
Prior to his work with FRV, Mr. Monk held a Director position in MuniMae’s (MMA) Corporate Finance group and reported directly to the CEO, Michael Falcone. At MMA, he had various high level responsibilities such as M&A, derivative valuation, corporate risk assessment, capital budgeting, fund management, and capital raising. Mr. Monk is a graduate of the University of Delaware.
