Michael Falcone, Board Chairman

Michael L. Falcone is Chairman and founding partner of TerraVerde Renewable Partners, LLC (TVRP). Mr. Falcone also serves as the Chief Executive Officer, President and Director of Municipal Mortgage and Equity, LLC (MMA), a position he has held since January 1, 2005 where he is responsible for all aspects of the general management oversight of the performance of the company. Mr. Falcone oversaw the growth of MMA from a small affordable housing company with thirteen employees to, at peak, the largest owner of affordable housing and solar generation facilities in the U.S., with a NYSE market capitalization exceeding $1.2 billion.

Mr. Falcone initiated MMA's entrance into the renewable energy development and finance business with the acquisition of Renewable Ventures in 2006. Mr. Falcone directed the growth of MMA Renewable Ventures energy project development business from a handful of professionals with no completed projects to a 50-person business with over 40 Megawatts (MW) of solar generation projects in service and a 400MW project pipeline. Mr. Falcone played a pioneering role in creating now-standard solar project finance structures able to accommodate institutional tax equity investors. MMA Renewable Ventures was sold to Fotowatio, S. A. in 2009.

Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive Officer, he served as MMA's Chief Operating Officer from 1997. Prior to his involvement with MMA, Mr. Falcone served as Senior Vice President and Partner at The Shelter Group, a Baltimore based real estate development and property management firm where he began his career in 1983. Mr. Falcone serves as the Chairman of the Board of McDonogh School and is the Treasurer of the Board of Catholic Charities of Central Maryland. Mr. Falcone is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Harvard Business School.
