Dr. Brown is President and founding partner of TerraVerde Renewable Partners, LLC (TVRP) and is head of Business Development. Dr. Brown launched TVRP after successfully helping start-up, build and eventually sell MMA Renewable Ventures (MMARV) to an international solar company. While at MMARV, he played a central role in helping the business develop over 40 MW of solar facilities.
Previously, as Managing Partner with The Results Group, he provided consultation on organizational strategy and leadership to numerous public, private and non-profit organizations, including: California School Employees Association (CSEA), California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS), Kaiser-Permanente, Agilent Technologies, Earthjustice and the Association of Bay Area Governments. Growing out of a sabbatical in 2001, he is involved in the implementation of international, citizen based, peace-building initiatives through his role as Treasurer of the Karuna Center for Peacebuilding. Previously, he was a Board Trustee at Twin Hills Unified School District for six years. He is also involved in promoting diversity within the finance industry through his role as a mentor with the Robert F. Toigo Foundation . Dr. Brown is a graduate of Yale University and the Wright Institute.
